Pauletta Brooks  is the creative director of Something From Nothing Creative. She has degrees from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and L’Universitá Per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy.


Pauletta entered the job market as a freelance artist, working as an illustrator, window dresser and stylist for numerous fashion houses and photographers including Rebecca Blake and Patricia Field and illustrating Dress For Health, by Maggie and Stephen Nussdorf. Later, she was hired full time as Art Director of the Evan-Picone Fashion Studio and promoted shortly thereafter to Studio Director. There, she oversaw and ran this seven person design studio housing the Evan-Picone designers, a fabric library, and an advertising and public relations department. She was also in charge of all in-house art and promotion for Evan-Picone and its eleven divisions.


Eventually, she chose to run her own company, Pauletta Brooks Wearable Art and All Access Art, creating jewelry and home accessories for designers and stores. Her work has appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, The New York Times, The Daily News, Ornament Magazine, Art in America, The Encyclopedia of Jewelry Making Techniques, by Jinks McGrath and numerous other publications and catalogues. She has given seminars and exhibited across the country and has consulted with various companies on product lines for the craft market.


For Something From Nothing Creative she is working on developing multimedia programs relevant to the arts and is promoting her children’s book, The Little Patch of Greene. She assists companies, Cover New York and Citi-Style Tours mentoring design students, showing them the array of businesses available in their field of study, introducing them to company executives and guiding them on how their studies apply to the ‘real world’.
